Vinsobres is the taste link between the southern and northern Rhône. Syrah feels right at home in the high-altitude vineyards of this community and is therefore represented in most wines in a significantly higher proportion than is otherwise known from the southern Rhône. Here the Perrin family is cultivating a plot of land 300 meters above sea level with vines that are around 90 years old. It consists of half Syrah and half Grenache Noir. Due to the high Syrah content, noticeable barrique is used here, which gives the wine a completely different character than the family's Grenache-influenced crus.
The 2021 Vinsobres les Hauts de Julien has a terrific aromatic depth and an impressive extract, this wine is playful and complex, for all its dynamism and power it is also wonderful lively. Its aromas are reminiscent of cocoa and ripe dark berries. Simply fantastic.
