The 1er Cru Beauregard is one of the best of its kind in Santenay, located at the southern end of the Côte d'Or. Chanson owns three hectares of Pinot Noir vines here, growing on clay and limestone soils with a high proportion of gravel. In addition to their balance, the wines have a beautiful minerality. They are rich in finesse and don't need an eternity to be fully ripe.

The 2019 Burgundy vintage is characterized by low yields due to the unusually small grapes. Together with the very warm summer this resulted in wines that are very concentrated and powerful. Sometimes they do not correspond to the traditional fine burgundy cliché, but they still have an appeal that is difficult to resist. The richness of this wine is a tasteful embrace. The natural balance and delicacy of the Santenay Beauregard softens this vintage character somewhat, but it does not deny this vintage full of character. It can get old.

We recommend it at the table with game, lamb and beef steaks, soft cheese, chicken/cockerel with red wine sauce, the Burgundian Coq au vin.
