The 15 hectares of vines are located directly around the Château de Fontaine-Audon in the northwest of the Sancerre appellation. Here the soil consists of flint (=Silex), which gives the wine a very precise finish and a fine minerality. The Sauvignon Blanc loves this terroir and thanks it with extremely elegant wines that have the characteristic gooseberry and currant notes and always remain invigorating and fresh despite their depth.
The wine has a typical Loire Sauvignon character, but its aromas are always ripe, the extremely grassy-green notes of some colleagues are not found here. Sauvignon with character and understatement. That's something.
