Pian delle Vigne is the Antinori family's Brunello winery. It has been in the family's possession since 1995 and today it has 184 hectares, 65 of which are planted with vines, exclusively with Sangiovese Grosso. The Rosso di Montalcino is aged in traditional large wooden barrels, as it is also common for the Brunello, just not as long. Antinori pursues a more fruity style with early drinkability, but the wine from a few years can be stored in the bottle.
The Rosso is characterized by its playful bouquet, which is reminiscent of cherries, lavender and violets. On the palate it is of medium weight, without any heaviness, elegant, fresh and powerful right up to the long-lasting finale. Very classy.
