The Vignes de Nicole Reserve line is produced on Château Paul Mas in Nicole, west of the town of Montagnac in Languedoc. On clay and limestone soils, the grapes mature perfectly in the warm Mediterranean climate, to give this soft-fruity dry wine style, responsible for the giant success of the Paul Mas wines.
The cuvée from Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah is aged 50% in new oak barrels, which in this price range is anything but a matter of course, and for the wine grower a high financial effort. This creates a magical red wine with melting, intense aroma and a certain noblesse. The barrique is noticable by roasted notes and vanilla, the wine has also herbs scents, cassis, blackberries and a touch of green pepper. An incredibly beautiful wine , which would actually cost a lot more.
