In 1928 the first red Villa Antinori was created as a storable red wine of high quality. At that time the Villa Antinori was a Chianti Classico, over the decades it has become a Toscana rosso thanks to new grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. It has won many friends all around the world because of its balance between classic and modern.
2019 was an excellent vintage with intense and powerful wines that have great aging potential. The harvest took place relatively late, under ideal weather conditions. The healthy harvest of the wine can be recognized by the dense ruby red color. Ripe dark berries such as cassis and blueberry are found in the scent, as well as roasted notes and herbs, as well as some vanilla. The taste is full, the tannins are soft but structuring in the background, the finish is long and well balanced.
