The red Vacqueyras les Christins from Famille Perrin consists of vines of the Grenache Noir 75% and 25% Syrah varieties that are on average 50 years old, which grow on stony terraces known as Dentelles de Montmirail.
The wine is matured in the traditional way in tanks and large wooden barrels, with some of the Syrah also being aged in barriques. Vacqueyras is always a good choice for us; in terms of quality, this municipality is number three on the southern Rhône after Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas, but usually costs only half as much as a Chateauneuf. You can usually drink these wines young and with great enjoyment, but 10 years of storage is no problem with this example, and even longer depending on the vintage characteristics.
2022 was a warm vintage on the Rhône, the wines are characterized by fullness, a clear and balanced style and are very stimulating.
This is how an exceptional Vacqueyras Les Christins rouge by Perrin was created, fragrant with cherries, chocolate, figs and a little violet, smooth and with an enormous amount of extract, pressure and length. A really great Vacqueyras from a vintage that offers drinking pleasure, which will be enjoyed for a long time and will certainly be remembered for a long time.
