The Ladisberg Veltliner, legally a Leithaberg DAC, is described by Markus Altenburger as "the extravagant Veltliner with burgundian appeal". His wines always have an extravagance, the Burgundy style can be tasted here because of the use of 500L oak barrels and of course by the cool climate aromas of the wine, that gives elegance and freshness. The spontaneous fermentation takes place in concrete eggs, then the wine matures for 14 months in the eggs and in oak barrels. This creates a long-lasting white wine with a pleasant low sweetness, which promises many years of drinking pleasure.
