In the Salzl winery, "Golden Finesse" refers to the particularly concentrated Trockenbeerenauslese of the greatest vintages. In the 2021 vintage, such a noble sweet berry concentrate was produced again, like all sweet Salzl white wines, made from the Sämling 88 grape variety, also known as Scheurebe. Already in the scent it shows its opulence with notes of pineapple, elderflower, oranges, peach, dried fruit, honey, passion fruit and caramel. On the palate it is extremely powerful, but by no means sticky, the wine has a lot of structure, power and a fresh acidity that braces itself against the brilliant sweetness, all with an enormous density. A very typical sweet wine from the Seewinkel, at an atypically cheap, or even at an incredibly low price. Liquid gold!
The A LA CARTE wine guide awards 94/100 points. Quote: "bright golden yellow, candied orange and pineapple, strong quality wine, youthful, lively texture, finely woven residual sugar, peach and passion fruit in the aftertaste."
