The Clos des Mouches is the most famous vineyard in Beaune. The plots of the Domaine Chanson were planted in 1945, 1961 and 1969. The wine draws its complexity and depth from this old vine stock, which secures it a special position among the house's 1er Crus. As one of the largest owners in the site, Chanson owns 4.5 hectares, of which 2.5 hectares are planted with Pinot Noir and are on a darker clay-limestone soil.
2022 is a generous vintage with first-class wines of the highest quality that are astonishingly fine and lively despite the warm year. This is why the Clos de Mouches 2022 impresses with its power. Structure and its cool aromas, a finesse vintage with plenty of extract, ideally tailored to the Pinot Noir. This could be the best red Clos des Mouches from Chanson of all time. The winemaking talent of the new cellar master at Chanson is bearing fruit.
