The very good vintage 2014 at Château Haut-Batailley consists of the grapes Cabernet Sauvignon (78%) and Merlot (22%). The Cabernet Franc was not used for the Grand Vin in 2014.
In the style of this winery, the 2014 is enormously elegant , yet powerful and deep. A combination of the strength of a Pauillacs and the delicacy of Saint-Julien. The wine has superbly refined tannins, which create a great precision and freshness, the final is long lasting and full of grace. This Haut-Batailley will envolve to a great Pauillac classic and will provide wonderful drinking pleasure for years or even decades. 92/100 Parker and 18/20 Rene Gabriel speak a clear language.
