Bouchet, M&S - Loire

M & S Bouchet is a small winery with just 6 hectares of vines, located 15 km south of Saumur in the Loire valley. Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc are the main vines, there is also some grolleau, a traditional red Loire grape variety. The winery used to be called Chateau Gaillard, but since the owners have now decided to label all wines as Vin der France in order to be free to do what they want and not to take the Saumur AOP, the term Château is no longer permitted.

François Bouchet, the father of the current owner, was one of the biodynamic pioneers, the experiments began in 1962, and he was also involved in the biodynamic conversion of some of the most important wineries, such as Coulée de Serrant, the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and the Domaine Leroy. Now to the Cabernet Franc le Sylphe itself: the wine is spectacular. Deep dark Cabernet Franc, no green notes at all, highly ripeness, also not low in alcohol, but everything in perfect balance, due to the low yields of onls about 22 hl per hectar. This Wine will that touch you!
