The high quality 8grad 14minute Weißburgunder by Werther Windisch spent 5 months in traditional 600 liter barrels on the yeast. This gives the wine structure and stability. The yeast was repeatedly submerged in the barrel, giving the wine a creamy richness. Before bottling, it was only lightly filtered.

The very good vintage 2020 produced a Weißburgunder, also known as Pinot Blanc, with an animating acid structure and full body. The aromas are reminiscent of nuts, pears, light tobacco and slightly yellow fruits. On the palate it is firm, clear and elegant, with a long finish then with a nice balance and medium-weight body.

You can combine this lively Rheinhessen with many dishes. The vegetarian or vegan cuisine is well suited, the wine is also vegan, by the way, as well as fish in white wine sauce, poultry or white meat, pasta with mushroom sauce also comes to mind. Enjoy.
