The Les Coudraies from the Domaine d'Orfeuilles is the semi-dry Vouvray variant, noted as demi-sec on the label. It has a residual sugar content of around 30 grams per liter, the acidity is usually just over 7 grams per liter. It is made from the Chenin Blanc vine, which can reach its full potential in the region's calcareous Vouvray soils. The semi-dry version can also mature in the bottle for a few years and thus becomes even more refined.

The grapes for Vouvray Les Coudraies come from the vineyard of the same name near the village of Reugny. The vineyards have been owned by the Hérivault family for over 40 years and are managed according to biodynamic principles. The grapes are hand-picked, usually at the beginning of October, and then fermented in steel tanks. The wine then ages on the lees for a few months before being bottled.

The Vouvray Les Coudraies has a fruity and floral scent with notes of pears, citrus fruits, apricots and flowers. On the palate it is semi-dry and powerful, with a fine acid structure in the long finish that ensures balance and freshness. A great Vouvray!

The delicate residual sweetness of Vouvray Les Coudraies makes it an ideal accompaniment to intense types of cheese and sushi; aged, it also goes very well with fish with white wine sauce or with Boudin Noir saussage with apple.
