The Scheurebe is often said to have an aromatic relationship to Sauvignon Blanc. This is quite understandable here and yet the Volkacher Scheurebe dry from the VDP Weingut Zur Schwane is different. It has a hint of cassis and gooseberries, is reminiscent of ice cream candy and also roses in the aftertaste. The wine is intense, has charm and a pleasant freshness in the finish, which stays well.
