The 2014 Vin Jaune Côtes du Jura by Eric Thill has incredible intensity, straw, walnuts, fine oxidation, white fruits, a great nose. It has a lot of power on the palate, a package of extract and acidity. This Vin Jaune has something that I've missed in almost all previously tried specimens, namely the power on the mid palate, the final grip of the extract. A giant. It has 14.5% alcohol, which is very unusual high for this type of wine, but that doesn't matter at all, on the contrary, it gives enormous power to the wine and the immense extract balances the alcohol completely anyway. Breathtakingly good, actually close to perfection!
