The Signature from Yalumba is one of the classics of Australian winemaking. The numerous medals and awards that this wine has received since its premiere in 1962 are proudly documented.
In fact, the Yalumba Signature is a characterful red wine of the highest quality, which also has great aging potential. Anyone who has had a ripe vintage of this wine will probably remember it for a long time. The wine can do something!
The substance of The Signature comes from the old vines in this cuvée. The oldest plots were planted in 1925. The aging takes place in barrels of different sizes of different origins, using oak wood from France, America and Hungary according to a sophisticated recipe.
The Yalumba The Signature 2018 consists of 53% Cabernet and 47% Shiraz, which were in barrels for 21 months, of which almost 30% were new French barriques. Aromatically it is reminiscent of cassis, cedar wood, spices and tobacco leaves. On the palate it shows a remarkable concentration, the fruit is intense and juicy without being intrusive, the precisely matching tannins ensure the tension. Wow!
