The Spätburgunder Talrain is one of the premium wines from the Ziereisen winery. It grows on a shell limestone soil with a layer of loess.
The fermentation takes place spontaneously, i.e. without the addition of fermenting yeasts, after the fermentation the wine is aged on the yeast in large wooden barrels for 24 months. Before bottling, the wine is neither fined nor filtered in order to keep it as natural as possible. Light trub and deposits are possible in the bottle, which is why we recommend decanting this wine.
The excellent red wine vintage 2020 produced extract-rich wines with ripe tannins and the best balance. The Talrain 2020 from Ziereisen is a very typical Pinot Noir with aromas such as cherries, red berries and herbs. On the palate it is grippy, but not edgy, has a very good fullness with just the right amount of tannin, which characterizes the wine right through to the long finish.
You can enjoy the 2020 Talrain Pinot Noir now, but further storage until at least 2029 is definitely not a mistake.
