The Silvaner VDP Erste Lage Escherndorfer Lump from the Zur Schwane Winery grows on limestone soils in this top location. Aged in stainless steel, the wine has a crystal-clear character with freshness and depth.
According to Franconian tradition, dry here means really dry and not compromised dry. Lump Silvaner has just 0.6 grams of residual sugar, much less is not possible. It doesn't need a hint of sugar; the ripe acidity and its precision would even disturb it.
The scent of the Lump is reminiscent of ripe pears, vegetables and a hint of peach. On the palate it is lively, mineral and clear, with a nice bite in the long and balanced finish. A Silvaner like from a picture book!
