This plot in the Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru location Les Hauts-Jarrons is owned by a good friend of Benjamin Leroux.
Les Hauts-Jarrons is near the AOC Beaune border. The best Savigny-les-Beaune wines come from there. Wines from this location are among the most complex and long-lived red wines in this AOC. The Pinot Noir vines grow here on a similar sandy soil as in the famous Beaune-Bressands site.
2021 is an elegant vintage with a classic structure and ripe tannins that is more reminiscent of the 1980s and 1990s in character, as 2021 was significantly cooler than its direct predecessors. The wines are beautifully balanced and very precise, as burgundy lovers appreciate. However, the harvest quantities were modest, which is why these delicious wines will probably soon have disappeared into private cellars.
