The Krispel Winery is located around 60 km southeast of the city of Graz, in the wine-growing region Vulkanland Steiermark. The southeastern part of Steiermarkt is famous for its Sauvignon Blanc, which produces wines that can be considered absolutely world class. The Krispel Sauvignon Blanc Straden is the estate's local wine. It throws around the intense aromas of this grape variety such as gooseberries and currants - or better yet, currant leaves. Falstaff magazine (AT) awards 92/100 to the Straden Sauvignon Blanc 2022. Taster Peter Moser writes: "Medium green-yellow, silver reflections. Behavior, delicate of guavas and mango, with nuances of gooseberries and cassis. Juicy, elegant, white tropical fruit, subtle fruit sweetness, balanced and easy to drink."
Wein-plus.eu writes about the 2018 vintage: “very good finish with fresh, cool juice.”
This first-class white wine goes very well with fish and seafood, sushi and intense vegetables such as fennel. He also likes Asian spices.
