The Rosso di Montalcino Vigna Palazzetto is brand new in the Mastrojanni portfolio. It comes from a single vineyard that produces a particularly balanced, elegant and deep Sangiovese. Rosso di Montalcino from individual vineyards is rare, as many producers understand this wine to be a kind of second wine to Brunello. Mastroianni believes that Rosso is a type of wine in its own right, a Sangiovese with freshness and elegance, and that a location that underlines this character should also be given special attention.
The Palazzetto is exclusively filled in 1.5L magnum bottles. There were only 3,200 of the 2020 vintage. The 2020 Vigna Palazzetto has a bright ruby red color. The scent is reminiscent of ripe red berries and a fine herbal note. On the palate it focuses on elegance and structure, a wine that is lively and animating. The Rosso Palazzetto is also a first-class food companion. Try it with hearty pasta dishes, light and dark meat, poultry or game.
