The Deidesheim Riesling dry Village by Bürklin-Wolf comes from younger vines from the very good Maushöhle and Herrgottsacker vineyards in what is probably the most famous wine-growing community in the Palatinate after Forst. The grapes were meticulously selected and harvested by hand at the end of September and the beginning of October, the yield was only 50-55 hl/ha. You can tell that from this wine, it has a wonderful density and depth. The aromas are reminiscent of limes and ripe apples, with a touch of balsamic spice. On the palate it has a lot of traction due to its demanding and salty minerality, which runs through the long finish. That's great!
The warm 2022 vintage produced intense Rieslings with beautiful clarity, which have a mature acidity and will be enjoyable relatively early. The harvest was perfectly ripe with a relatively low alcohol content. The Deidesheim Riesling clearly shows the potential of this year, with its crystal-clear light fruit and the stimulating freshness. The Deidesheim Riesling by Bürklin-Wolf will be great fun for many years.
The cautiously evaluating portal Wein-Plus.eu is here at 90/100 (excellent!) and praises the mineral herbal scent, the fine acidity and the cool style with lots of light minerality and a lot of tension in the final.
