Since the 2020 vintage, the Rebholz family has had another GROSSES GEWÄCHS Riesling, the Schäwer from Burrweiler. The name is derived from the vinyards slate soil, a type of soil that is extremely rare on the southern wine route.

The Riesling vines on the Oekonomierat Rebholz parcel in Burrweiler Schäwer are around 30 years old. The wine is made in the typical Rebholz style, really dry, minerally and made for a long maturation period.

Falstaff magazine is very impressed with this premiere vintage and rates the 202 Schäwer Riesling with 94+/100 points. Quote from taster Ulrich Sautter: "Herbaceous scent, wild thyme, yeast, also some pepper. Quite complex on the palate and in no way ingratiating, does not implement a classic style, unvarnishedly shows the location with minerality and good density and also length."
