Pommard is probably the best known red wine AOC of the Côte-de-Beaune. The Pinot Noirs from this community are known for their powerful nature and longevity.

The Pommard by Joseph Faiveley is prepared by hand, from the pruning to the harvest and the final sorting of the grapes. After fermentation, the wine is stored in barriques for twelve months, around a quarter of which are new. The degree of toast is moderate in order to keep the terroir aromas in the foreground and not to bring strong toasted notes into the wine. Before bottling, it was then allowed to rest in the tank for a further two months.

The excellent vintage 2020 shows aromas such as blackberries, blueberries, cherries, ripe plums and a delicate spiciness of the barriques. On the palate it has a grippy structure thanks to the ripe tannins, the Faiveley Pommard 2020 has a very lively and drinking-inspiring effect despite its density.

You can serve it very well when it is young, but if you prefer a ripe and subtle Meditation Burgundy, it is best to give it a few more years in the dark cellar.
