One of the very best basic cvées in Champagne is the Pol Roger Brut Reserve. This champagne is blended in equal parts Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grape varieties. Stylistically, a full-bodied, if you will, “vinier” champagne. Here in the ideal aperitif version for two people: 0.375L
The Brut Reserve from Pol Roger Brut Reserve matures in the bottle for 4 years.
By the way, Sir Winston Churchill was a lover of this champagne house.
Falstaff Magazine rates the Pol Roger Champage Brut Reserve with 92/100 and writes: "Bright golden yellow, silver reflections, fine, persistent mousse. Delicate yellow tropical fruit, a hint of pineapple and mango, white flowers, delicate honey nuances, some biscuit . Medium body, creamy texture, integrated fruit sweetness, subtle acidity, ideal for friends of an opulent, sweeter style."
At Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Pol Roger gets 92/100.
