Wolfberger's signature line is determined every year by a competent jury of wine experts who select the best casks or tanks for the respective grape variety.
The Pinot Blanc, also known as Weißburgunder or Weißer Burgunder, does not quite enjoy the reputation of the Pinot Gris, which is very highly valued there, in Alsace, which is why it is sold cheaper than its gray brother. We don't quite understand it, but it shouldn't bother friends of Pinot Blanc. the Pinot Blanc from Wolfberger is definitely the fresher type.
In any case, the price of around €7 is a bargain for a good Alsatian. Here, too, we have a typical Alsatian style, the wine is just below the semi-dry range, but the delicate residual sweetness of 6.5 g/l gives it a wonderful melt. Aromatically, the Wolfberger Pinot Blanc Signature is reminiscent of green hazelnuts, honeydew melon and a light floral note. The smoothness on the palate ends in a long finish. We recommend this wine with vegetables, river fish in white wine sauce, sushi or Alsatian tarte flambée. Delicious!
