In the southern part of the Côte Chalonnais, on the border with the Maconnais, lies Montagny. We appreciate this AOp because of the relatively cheap white burgundy, which is a lot of fun in the glass and does not need years of storage. The 2021 vintage was marked by cooler weather than its very warm three predecessors, resulting in very subtle and fresh burgundies as we know them from the past. A style that friends of Burgundy appreciate.
The sites of the Montagny of Domaine Faiveley are at a remarkable altitude of around 400m, which gives the wine coolness and elegance. 20% of the Montagny harvest is aged in barriques, 10% of which are new. After twelve months of maturation, the final composition of the white Montagny takes place, at Faiveley great importance is attached to the lively freshness of the wine.
