Les Millerands is a village location in Meursault that has the ideal soil for the Chardonnay grape variety, consisting of light clay limestone interspersed with pebbles. Les Parcellaires de Saulx matures this wine for around 12 months in used barriques, which gives the wine a perfectly fitting oak tone that allows the terroir all the freedom to develop.
The 2021 vintage was climatically comparable to the 1980s and 1990s, i.e. rather cool for today, which gave the white wines from Burgundy an outstanding elegance and finesse. Unfortunately, the harvest was very small.
The 2021 Meursault Les Milerands by Parcellaires de Saulx has a light golden yellow colour. Its scent is reminiscent of white fruits and ripe citrus fruits, it also has a delicate floral note and of course a beautiful noble wood influence. On the palate it shows a lot of elasticity is open and full, it has a good extract and a beautiful precision and clarity. You can enjoy it young, but this fine Meursault will also mature perfectly in the bottle.
