The Côtes-du-Rhône Villages of Mas de Boislauzon grows on the northern border of the AOP Châteauneuf-du-Pape and has a similar soil with the large round pebbles , as it knows from its famous neighbor.
The vines are on average an impressive 70 years old, which reduces yields and increases wine quality. The blend of 60% Grenache Noir, 20% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre and 5% Carignan is typical of the region. In order to increase the structure of the soft Grenache, the grapes are not destemmed here. Fermentation takes place with natural yeasts in concrete tanks, in which the wine then matures. The Chaussy family is taking a full eighteen months to expand so that their Côtes-du-Rhône Villages can find the best balance.
2020 was an excellent vintage with wines that are charming and deep at the same time.
