The Mariechäfer from the Ziereisen winery is a special and unusual wine. It was fermented spontaneously and with the stems, then it was stored in large wooden barrels for a full seven years. The wine is also made from the rarely seen Regent grape variety. During this long aging period, the wine gained its polish. The bottling was carried out without prior filtration because after the long aging period all the solids settled naturally.
The Mariechäfer (Alemannic spelling) has a more Mediterranean character, it has a dark color, lots of cherry fruit and fine herbal notes in the bouquet. On the palate it is balanced, medium-weight and with lively freshness in the fruit. Very attractive.
