Sparkling wines from Portugal are rare, this applies to the domestic market and especially to the rest of the world. Luis Pato is also a master of this trade, his wines are made in traditional bottle fermentation from local grape varieties such as Maria Gomes here. The grapes come from an early harvest of the vineyards intended for regular wine production, so he gets the base wines for the sparkling wines with stable acidity (important!) and at the same time reduce the yield for the other wines. Very well thought out and the result is simply great.
