The Tenuta Luce has 11 hectares of vineyards planted with Sangiovese and located in the DOCG Brunello di Montalcino. It made sense to expand these separately and bring a top-class Brunello onto the market. The premiere vintage of Luce Brunello was 2004.
2019 was a balanced vintage in the Brunello area without excessive summer heat periods and with enough rainfall so that healthy, first-class grapes could be brought in, which resulted in this magnificent Brunello di Montalcino from Tenuta Luce. The aging, which lasted twenty-four months, took place in large oak barrels, as is traditional for Brunello.
Falstaff magazine awards an incredible 99/100 points to the Luce Brunello 2019 and writes: "Rich, sparkling ruby with a fine garnet shimmer. Catchy nose with lots of fleshy plum and blackberry fruit, plus rose petals and tobacco spice . Rich and juicy in approach and progression, shows wonderfully integrated tannins, opens in many layers, delicate mint in the finish."
