Les Fiefs de Lagrange is the second wine of the 3eme Cru Classé Château Lagrange from Saint-Julien in the Médoc. It is made from the younger vines, which after all have an average age of around 30 years, so they are not really young either. The Fiefs is very elegant and accessible earlier than the Chateau's Grand Vin.
The warm 2019 vintage again produced superb wines in Bordeaux, Lagrange is excited about this harvest which produced the richest wines in history. The Fiefs de Lagrange 2019 impresses above all with its high-level harmony. It already shows a lot of charm and is still equipped with a storage potential of 20 years. The attractive and open scent has notes of red and dark berries, cassis, some vanilla and cocoa, plus a fine herbal spice. On the palate it is very accessible and in the best balance thanks to its good extract, which almost makes the tannins disappear. This is already a lot of fun, on its own, as with a grilled or stewed dish with meat, game, lamb or poultry, or with cold starters with sausage and/or cheese.
Andreas Larsson (world's best sommelier 2007) writes: "Youthful nose with violets, freshly crushed berries, darker fruit notes with cassis and dark plum" and awards 91/100.
