The Chardonnay plays an important role at Landerer and thrives excellently in the locations around Vogtsburg.
The Leiselheimer Chardonnay black earth from the Landerer winery grows on volcanic weathered rock, which gives this white wine its name due to its black color. It is fermented spontaneously, i.e. without the addition of cultured yeasts, and then aged for 10 months in used barriques and tonneaux.
The charming 2022 vintage gifted us with beautiful wines from Burgundy grape varieties, like this Chardonnay, which perfectly strikes the balance between delicate, creamy fullness and satisfying freshness. It has a light yellow color with green reflections. Its scent is playful and open, the aromas are reminiscent of pears, delicate white flowers, underlined by a subtle roasted aroma of the wooden barrels. On the palate it is precise, clear, typical of the variety and, despite its suppleness, also has a fine saltiness and subtle freshness. An almost irresistible wine.
