The Lagrein Porphyry Riserva by Cantina Terlano comes from three different vineyards with almost 100-year-old vines that provide very little yield of the highest quality berries. The power and depth of the resulting wine allows it to be matured in barriques, around a third of which is renewed annually. The result is a playful and very extract-rich Lagrein, which shows that this grape variety can play a role in the concert of the great when it is prepared by a master.
The Lagrein Porphyr has an emphatically dark color, an almost opaque ruby-purple. Aromatic it is very versatile, fruit notes such as dark berries and sour cherries combine with liquorice, cloves, coffee and vanilla. On the palate it is very dense, concentrated and equipped with polished tannins that give the wine nobility and structure. This top wine can be stored for a long time and refines itself in the bottle over the years.
