The Puligny-Montrachet AOC from Joseph Faiveley comes from a small plot of just 0.47 hectares, which has an ideal south-eastern orientation. The soil consists of very stony and calcareous soil, which is ideal for the Chardonnay vines.
The harvest of this white Burgundy is of course carried out selectively by hand. After fermentation, this particularly subtle Puligny-Montrachet was stored for fourteen months in Burgundian oak barrels (228L), almost a third of which were new.
2022 was a great vintage in which there is finally enough supply again, which keeps prices stable despite continued high demand. The wines are juicy, full, and the rather cool 2021 has a creamier taste. The balance is very good, so the wines should be able to age well for a long time.
