Particularly good parts of the Wehlen sundial are available from Joh. Jos. Prüm has a golden capsule to distinguish it from the “normal” selection. The 2005 John Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese Gold capsule is a great Moselle Riesling that will last for many decades.
The press is euphoric, the Vienna Spectator gives it 98/100, Parker 96-97/100 and Falstaff 96/100. The latter write: "Bright golden yellow with young, green reflections. On the nose, floral nuances of citrus zest and aranzini, including some pineapple, passion fruit, a hint of marguerites. Very creamy and complex on the palate, some apricot confit and caramel, orange fruit, delicately salty Nuances, convincing length and finesse, but far too young, baby fat still in full swing, creamy finish, incredibly long finish."
