The Hermitage la Chapelle is a Syrah wine icon from the northern Rhône. It always is outstandig, some vintages are even cult in connoisseur circles. The 1961, 1978 and 1990 vintages are among the very best wines that were ever been bottled. The wine comes from different parts of the Hermitage hill, including the best plots of Le Méal and Les Bessards. It takes its name from a small chapel on this famous hillside, owned by Jaboulet Aine.

The Syrah grapes from all lots are first vinified separately. After 15-18 months in the barrel, the best barrels are finally cuvéeted into the Hermitage la Chapelle. The 2017 vintage is one of the best harvests in recent years on the northern Rhône. The wines are very powerful and still have a great freshness. Perhaps the 17 La Chapelle will be the continuation of the legendary vintages mentioned above? In any case, Parker's Wine Advocazte awarded 98/100 points.
