The Hermitage la Chapelle is a Syrah wine icon of the northern Rhône. It's always really classy, some vintages even have a cult following among connoisseurs. The 1961, 1978 and 1990 vintages are some of the very best ever bottled. The wine comes from different parts of the Hermitage hill, including the best plots of Le Méal and Les Bessards. It takes its name from a small chapel on this famous hillside, which is owned by Jaboulet Aine.

The grapes from all lots are first vinified separately. The best barrels are then finally cuvéed into Hermitage la Chapelle after 15-18 months in the barrel. The 2010 vintage is one of the best harvests in recent years on the northern Rhône. The wines are very powerful and still have a great freshness. Maybe the 2010 La Chapelle will be a continuation of the legendary vintages mentioned above? In any case, Parker's Wine Advocate has already awarded 97+/100 points.
