For the Gutswein Grauer Burgunder Tertiär, the Weingut Wageck uses 500L wooden barrels (60%) and steel tanks (40%) for aging. This is how you get the combination of fruit and subtle oak that supports the wine but never dominates it. Aromas of nuts, almonds, pineapple and ripe citrus fruits can be found in the scent, as well as the fine wood note just mentioned. On the palate it has the typical smoothness of the Pinot Gris grape variety, but is very clear and precise thanks to its fine mineral notes. A beautiful wine that does not necessarily have to be drunk young.
