The Landerer winery on the Kaiserstuhl in Baden specializes in Burgundy grape varieties and Sauvignon Blanc. The Landerers are based in Niederrotweil, in the vicinity of the more well-known Oberrotweil, which is surrounded by excellent vineyards. The Eichelmann wine guide classifies the winery with 3.5 stars as an "excellent winery",
Even the Gutswein from Pinot Gris is a lot of fun. It is fermented in steel tanks and then aged on the fine lees to get structure. Its scent is reminiscent of ripe apples, pears, herbs and white flowers. On the palate it is firm, clear and with the typical smoothness that makes Pinot Gris wines so popular.
An all-round convincing and stylish white wine that can be used in a variety of culinary ways. River fish, poultry, strips, vegetable dishes and creamy risottos are just a few suitable examples.
