South Tyrol is the home of the Gewürztraminer. This fragrant varietal has its own and instantly recognizable character, which you may or may not like. It's like the coriander among wines.

The St. Michael Eppan makes an excellent Gewürztraminer that is also surprisingly and pleasantly dry. Wines from this variety often have a certain residual sweetness to buffer the high alcohol content. However, this was harvested earlier, which means that the alcohol is within limits and the sugar is completely unnecessary. The grapes are harvested carefully and laboriously by hand, and only stainless steel is used for aging, which is common with Gewürztraminer. If you will, this is a rather fresh variant of this intense wine type.

The aromas of Eppan Gewürztraminer are reminiscent of lychee, cloves and roses, it is full, juicy and very aromatic on the palate.

In culinary terms, this wine is particularly suitable as an aperitif, Tyrolean cheese dumplings or red smear cheese.

St.-Michael Eppan is one of the leading wineries in South Tyrol, the wine magazine Falstaff has been giving it the highest rating of 5/5 for years, and Gambero Rosso has at least 3 glasses of wine practically every year. .
