The Gevrey-Chambertin Creux Brouillard is one of three Côte d'Or vineyards owned by the Domaine Belleville. The vineyard has a clayey-limestone soil with an ideal south-east exposure. In addition, there are ancient vines that have been supplying their Pinot Noir grapes for 80 years. The best conditions for a wonderful Burgundy. The other prerequisites come from the trained team at Domaine Belleville, which is known for brilliant winemaking. This Gevrey-Chambertin was stored in barriques for sixteen months, around a third of which were new.

2017 was a classic Burgundy year with structured and elegant wines that are now at their best drinking stage. The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Creux Brouillard from Belleville smells of blackberries, cherries and toasted notes, the first hint of ripe aromas reminiscent of forest floors are just beginning. It is juicy on the palate, the dark berries also come into play here, the wine is powerful and elegant at the same time, the ripe tannins give freshness and structure to the long finish. It's a lot of fun now.

Serve this noble red Burgundy best with game dishes, light and dark meat or semi-hard cheeses.
