The 1er Cru vineyard Les Cazetiers in Gevrey-Chambertin is considered a hot candidate for upgrading to a Grand Cru. Similar to Clos St.-Jaques, one can only wonder why this wonderful vineyard was not classified as a Grand Cru from the start. The Domaine Faiveley can take full advantage of the Cazetier as it owns half of this vineyard. The Faiveley Cazetier is matured in barriques, around half of which are new. The wood is only lightly toasted. This subtle and profound Burgundy is perfectly balanced and at an extremely high level. a dream!

2021 is an elegant vintage that was cooler than its predecessors and therefore resulted in more classically structured wines that impress with freshness, finesse and a good balance. Twenty years of bottle aging should not be a problem for this first-class Burgundy under good conditions.
