The Grand Cuvée from Josic is a special wine. On the one hand, it does not have a vintage because it is made from harvests from different years and, on the other hand, the Passito method is used here, where ripe grapes are dried on the vine in order to obtain the highest possible concentration.
The basis of this wine is Cabernet Franc, plus Cabernet Sauvignon and Alicante Bouchet. Due to the high must weight, not all of the sugar ferments; around 17 g/l remains in the wine, giving it a semi-dry character. This is also known from Ripasso wines from the Veneto or from southern Italian red wines.
The basis of the current Grand Cuvée comes from the 2017 & 2018. The Josic Grand Cuvée contains aromas reminiscent of cherries, raisins and dried figs. The wine has a juicy, soft and rich nature, a long-lasting taste and a silky texture.
