Franciacorta is the sparkling wine center of Italy. The same grape varieties as in Champagne play the main role here, such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, but Franciacorta is generally more fruity and softer than its French counterpart.
The Monte Delma brut consists of 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Nero, which grow on a gentle hill. After fermentation, the wine is put into the bottle with yeast and some sugar, where the carbonic acid is generated with the help of the second fermentation. After 18 months, the yeast is removed and the Farnciacorta brut is put on sale.
The result is a high-quality sparkling wine that impresses with its complex aromas such as ripe fruit and bread crust. Its perfect balance and the fine, long-lasting pearls show the skilled craft of the Berardi family.
