The Tawny Port is fermented after fermentation in small barrels called pipes, where it gets more air contact than the Ruby Port, which is stored in large barrels. This gives the Tawny an oxidative style, which is reflected in a brighter color and aromas such as nuts and dried fruit.
Feuerheerd 's Fine Tawny consists of the Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca and Tinto Cão grapes, carefully fermented and developed under the direction of the wine cellar Álvaro van Zeller.
Due to its delicate sweetness, the Tawny is only recommended for moderately sweet desserts, but its subtle aromas also make it a fine soloist.
