The 20 Years Tawny Port by Feuerheerd is also available in an attractive decanter with a decorative wooden frame. The grape variety mix consists of Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão and other red wine varieties from the Douro Valley. This Tawny Port, matured 20 years before bottling in small wooden barrels (pipes), is not only very delicate, but of course also a wonderful gift for wine and port wine fans.
It is relatively dark for a tawny, with a subtle ripe tone and some degree of oxidation typical of this type of port. Aromatically it is reminiscent of dark chocolate, fruit bread, dried plums, balsamic notes and black pepper. On the palate it is beautifully concentrated and perfectly balanced right up to the impressively long finale.
He is an excellent soloist, but is also at his best as a companion to food. Try this port in combination with sweet desserts, nuts, cakes or blue cheese, classic wines a stilton.
