The Tokaij Aszu 6 Puttonyos is the highest level of the Trockenbeerenauslese, to which the noble rotten butter is added. This special wine at Disznókő is only available in the best years with a lot of Bortytis grapes. Previously these were 1993, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017.

For this highly concentrated wine, individual berries that have been dried on the stick are selected by hand and fermented with a long maceration of 48-60 hours. The wine then matured for a whole two and a half years in barriques, some of which were new. The Aszú grapes were 75% Furmint and 25% Zéta. The base wine consisted of Hárslevelű and Furmint.

The Disznokö winery describes the 2002 vintage as extremely precise. Already in September there was a lot of morning fog, which promoted the development of the noble rot Botrytis cinerea, at a time when the berries still had a stable acidity. Here the juicy sweetness of 176 grams per liter contrasts with a classy acidity of 11 g/l. That is what makes this vintage so special. It will have a very long life, the 30 years specified by the winery are very conservative estimates, it will certainly still taste brilliant in 50 years. Decanter magazine already rates the less concentrated 5 Puttonyos from 2002 with 95/100. Unfortunately there is no note for the 6 Puttonyos.

Enjoy the Aszu 6 Puttonyos best with pastries, fruit cake, foie gras, poultry with fruity sauces such as duck à l'orange or simply instead of a dessert.
